About Us
Rio Art Hotel is a century-old building, dating from the late 19th century and has belonged to the Ferro Family since the 1950s. It was in this property that one of the Ferro Family's companies was based on the first floor, an import and export company, which was considered one of the largest Portuguese oyster export companies. The second floor of this building consisted of a series of apartments, which were rented to Setubal families, who lived here until the early decades of the 21st century.
Mário Ferro, founder of Rio Art Hotel, made the decision to move this project forward by reformulating the entire building and transforming it into this beautiful and pleasant Hotel, continued today by Carlos Jones Estevez, owner and Director of Rio Art Hotel. Art is also part of this project and that is why you can find, in every corner of this hotel, a collection of hand-painted tiles by plastic artist Ana Curto.
